Kanvas Biosciences’ spatial imaging and manufacturing platform is enabling a new generation of microbiome-based medicines, both through its own drug development programmes now entering clinical trials, and through commercial partnerships with other companies in the space.

Kanvas has raised a $48 million Series A round, bringing total funding to $78 million, from investors including DCVC, Lions Capital, the Gates Foundation, Athos Capital, Germin8 Ventures, Ki Tua Fund, and Pangaea Ventures, among others.

This reinvestment reflects the Ki Tua Fund's focus on enabling technologies that support the development of next-generation therapeutics. The microbiome is still in its early chapters, and Kanvas is helping to write them.
