Professor Jeremy Hill, Chief Science and Technology Officer at Fonterra has devoted over 30 years to research and technology development in agrifood. Former President and Chairman of the International Dairy Federation. In 2018 he co-established the Sustainable Nutrition Initiative based at the Riddet Institute, Massey University where he holds an Adjunct Professorship in Sustainable Nutrition.
Ranjani supports Ki Tua Fund’s scientific and technical diligence, bringing an external lens to challenge and drive our investment thesis and strategy.
Ranjani has a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland as well as Postdoctoral experience at Stanford University and NYSBC. Ranjani spent 9 years at Impossible Foods, finishing as VP Strategic Ingredients. Most recently, Ranjani worked as Chief Science Officer at Shiru.
Based in San Francisco, Rachel leads Ki Tua Fund’s USA deal flow and investments and is an investor in the food and agriculture sectors. Prior to joining the Ki Tua Fund she held investing roles at Cargill Ventures and Leaps by Bayer. Prior to pivoting to venture capital, she held operating roles at an early stage agtech start-up and a publicly traded enterprise SaaS company. She started her career in Investment Banking at Barclays. Rachel completed her MBA at The Wharton School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering & Systems Science from University of Pennsylvania.
Paul leads Ki Tua Fund’s development of best practices in scientific and technical due diligence and knowledge capture and disbursement within Fonterra.
Paul has a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Otago and has been employed at the Fonterra Research Development Corporation (FRDC) since 1998 working collaboratively with subject matter experts within Fonterra and externally to undertake scientific and technical due diligence. Based in Amsterdam, Xin leads Ki Tua Fund’s Europe based deal flow and investments and is a seasoned VC investor with a deep interest and expertise in Ag/food tech, energy tech, and Climate tech. She was previously Managing Director at Capagro, a European VC firm in the field of Ag/Food tech with the mission of contributing to sustainable agriculture and healthier food. Before joining Capagro, Xin was a Managing Director at Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures (‘TCNV’).
Brian is passionate about investment and being part of business journeys from ideation and inception to thriving commercial success. He utilises his skills built through launching consumer brands in the Asia Pacific region.
Based in Amsterdam, Sneha is involved with scoping new deal flow and conducting due diligence. She has a background in Biotechnology and Research Commercialisation, and is passionate about bringing disruptive innovations to market.
Jon is a strategist and venture builder, bringing skills from a career spent in startups, consulting, and investment. He is passionate about working at the nexus of science-backed creativity and action to transform the future.
Based in San Francisco, William supports Ki Tua Fund’s deal flow, pipeline and due diligence process; with experience in B2C and B2B sales, commodity forecasting and internal audit and chair of He Tātai Rangahua (Primary Industry policy advisory council).

Mike is the Managing Director of Co-operative Affairs at Fonterra, leading varied teams including legal, governance, risk, sustainability and global trade. Mike has been a member of the Fonterra Management Team since 2013, contributing to many of Fonterra's key initiatives to support the long-term success of the business. As a Board member of the Ki Tua Fund, Mike brings deep experience and understanding of Fonterra.

Rodolphe is a Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University, leading the CRISPR Lab. He spent 9 years at Danisco and DuPont in R&D and M&A, is a co-founder of Intellia Therapeutics, Locus Biosciences, TreeCo, Ancilia Biosciences and CRISPR Biotechnologies, and an advisor and board member for several genome editing start-ups.
